Snapdragon Garden Hat
This pattern can be worked in a round or in rows, it really doesn’t make a difference. If you do it in rows ch 2 to start each row. If you go in rounds (my preference) use a marker if necessary)
Ch 2
R1: 10 hdc in 2nd chain from hook
R2: 2 hdc in each stitch around
R3: hdc in each stitch around
R4: 2 hdc in each st around
R5: Ch 3 ( counts as first dc), 1 dc in next ch, *skip next two ch, 5 dc in next ch (shell), skip next 2 ch, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch, rep from * across
R6: *5 dc in the space between the 2 dc group from R5, 1 dc in the spact before and 1 dc in the space after the center dc of the 5 dc group of the previous row, rep from * around
R7 + : rep row 6 until hat reaches around 5 inches.
Edging;
R1:Sc in each st around hat.
R2: slip stitch in first st chain of the row, *ch 3, skip two stitches, slip st in next chain. Rep from * around
R3: *5 hdc in the ch3 space, slip stitch in slip stitch of previous row . rep from * around
Tie off and weave in ends
Flowers
Rosette
Ch10
3 dc in 2nd ch from hook, 3dc in each of the next two ch, 2 hdc in the next 3 ch, 1 dc in the last 3 ch. Using a tapestry needle thread through the back of the rosette to tie it together. Fasten to hat.
6 petal flower
Ch2
R1: c in 2nd ch from hook
R2: c in each st around slip stitch in last ch
R3: *ch3, skip 1 st, slip stitch in next ch, rep from * around
R4:* dc in ch 3 space, rep from * around
R5: 4 dc in the unworked ch from R3, repeat this around, fasten off and weave in ends
On the 6 petal flower pattern is it a typo that should read R1: dc in 2nd ch from hook and if not what does the c stand for? Again on R2 is the c supposed to be a dc?
